About the event
Syracuse STELLAR is a newly established amateur radio club that aims to introduce our community to the art of amateur radio. Our interest in Amateur Radio goes beyond just being a hobby. We are first and foremost students of amateur radio. STELLAR is an acronym for Science Technology Enhanced Learning Laboratory for Amateur Radio.
Whether young or old, the wireless technology of amateur radio can build a strong foundation across multiple grade levels and subject matters. As both a teaching tool and as a hobby, amateur radio demonstrates a strong motivating influence that can result in a variety of transferrable skills which can lead to careers in computer sciences, broadcast engineering, telecommunications and more. Amateur radios (Ham radios) can also be used during crisis and natural disasters when landline, cell phones and other communication fails.
Syracuse STELLAR invites you to attend this online information session to learn more.
